You are a Creator

Human beings are born to create. Art, business, science, economies, buildings, families and communities. Creativity exists inside each of our souls, and is not limited to "the arts" like painting, drawing, or music.

Take a minute and think about the things you have created out of nothing.

A home.
A family.
A piece of art.
A dance.
A song.
A journal entry.
A business.
A photograph.
A garden.
A meal.

To access our creativity is to access our soul. To create something out of nothing is to answer an internal longing.

The idea erupts from deep within, and surfaces in the shower, on a walk, or in a dream. It might be a prodding from the Universe, who knows we need to create in order to live and grow. Then we make the choice to act on the idea, or not.

I have a feeling you create everyday, even if you don't call it by that name. You make and decorate a home, you grow a garden, you start a business, you write a poem. Do not underestimate the power of bringing something forth, something that was not in existence just moments before. And if you can create something small, that brings enjoyment, or invokes a strong human emotion, then you can also create something big. Maybe in the ripples that continue to flow from your creative center, maybe in the people your creation touches, maybe in the lives you effect and change.

As a powerful creator, you have an obligation to yourself. First, remember who you are, and what you were born to do. Second, give no creation less value than another; every creative endeavor has an impact. And last, answer your soul's calling to create. Listen to the soft whispers that inspire you to take action. Don't worry about the outcome or the reason.

Create simply to be human, and because you can.

There is joy in the process, and possibly other, unknown gifts as well - like healing, energetic cleansing, insight, and self-recognition.

See yourself as a powerful creator, and you never have to feel like your hobbies or interests are trivial again. It does not matter if your creation touches one or one million. You have fulfilled something inside yourself, and that is a sacred practice.
