Your Perfect Story is Here
Has it ever happened that you haven't gotten something you really wanted? Have you ever wondered why you were so unfortunate and undeserving? You really thought THIS was the thing, and meant for you.
Then, in hindsight, have you been able to see that the thing you really wanted wasn't meant for you at all? Because something much better, and much more appropriate, came in? Or, you realized that what you wanted wasn't really that good for you after all?
As humans we never give ourselves enough credit. We are conditioned into believing that we are not as good as others, not as deserving, not as capable, and not as loved. We compare, and most of the time, we feel like we fall short.
So how can we possibly know what's best for us? Or what's best for the greater good of humanity? We can force ourselves into jobs, relationships, cities, homes, families, and more - because we are smart, resourceful, and determined.
When we do get what we want, we call it fate. And when we don't get what we want, we call it failure.
Is there a difference?
What if the story you would write for yourself is far less than what you deserve? What if our tendency is to sell ourselves short?
Here's the other side - just as we have been trained to always think we could be doing more and better, our soul already knows we are perfect. Our soul already trusts there is a plan. Our soul spends a lot of time steering us in directions we don't want to go. But all directions are good - all the detours and twists and sad times and painful experiences. Everything is leading us to what is best. Everything is leading us to our perfect, unimaginable, more than we could dream for ourselves, story.
So how do we let go? How do we take our hand off the wheel and follow the signs?
First, we stop worrying about the details. If we want love, for example, the possibilities of what that looks like are endless. Love can come from many people, not just the person you have in mind. The same goes for a career goal - if fulfillment or freedom is the ultimate goal, unlimited options exist. The details trip us up, because we misunderstand that an unintended path could be leading us right to where we want to be.
Second, we enact the observer. Instead of forcing something into being, with no acknowledgement of how we feel, we watch. We wait. We are open and curious, rather than controlling and manipulative. Staying curious allows us to change course when needed, when something we are forcing isn't really meant to be.
A regular yoga practice helps us to be the non-judgmental observer of our body and our mind. A practice not only strengthens and tones your body, it also quiets your critical, story-telling voice. I created 2 FREE 10-minute yoga practices and 2 FREE meditations that you can try right now!
Lastly, remind yourself how deserving you are, and trust that the Universe knows this too. Whatever you believe in, God, a higher power, or universal consciousness, trust that the greater good includes YOU. You are part of the plan. Your best interests are at heart. What you desire is waiting for you, and it's over-flowing, on its way, and beautiful.
