You are the Solution

Did you know you are magical, powerful, and capable beyond what you can imagine?

Did you know that everything you seek is already within you? Your happiness is waiting for you. Your contentment exists within, and not from something outside.

We have been so tricked into thinking external factors define us - we have been so conditioned to believe that collecting things, people, relationships, money, and statuses, will bring us joy and fulfillment. We are used to the language, "I'll be happy, when...

I lose 10 pounds,

I make more money,

I get the new house,

He/She changes.”

We have also been tricked into thinking if people change, we will feel better. Or if circumstances change, we will be happier.

We cannot change people. We can only change ourself.

Outside experience does not dictate our inner happiness; people or how they treat us does not need to define us. Actually, our inner happiness dictates our outer experience.

I know this is confusing - at least it is for me. I say it out loud, and the concept makes sense, but there is still a part of me that thinks more money would solve my problems. Or if someone would behave differently I would be happier with them (with myself). This is my conditioning, and my ego, and it is a lie.

Love yourself first, and the loving relationship will come. Notice your abundance first, and more abundance will flow in. Accept your body now, and watch your mindset shift around how you treat it. Be happy now, and more magical pleasures will arrive to greet you.

I've started a new morning routine and I love it. I have seen this new routine make a difference in my overall attitude throughout the day. Maybe it sounds silly, but I am thankful for my pillow. I wake up in the morning, and I actually thank my pillow. I rest my face on it and feel all the pleasure, warmth, and comfort of the pillow. I smile. I seriously love and appreciate my pillow. And why shouldn't I? Pillows are quite comfortable and great. By allowing myself to feel happy, for this one small thing, I have just raised my vibration to the Universe. I have just allowed myself to feel happy, and it doesn't matter what this happy feeling stems from. Happiness breeds more happiness.

If there is a way you don't want to feel anymore, you are the solution.

The answers to not feel that way are within you. The path might not be easy, and you may resist it firmly. The solution might be checking into rehab, or taking charge of your health. The solution might be quitting your soul-sucking job, or ending a bad relationship. The solution might be changing your own ways, by beginning a spiritual or self-care practice.

If you are sick and tired of feeling a certain way, or being in a certain circumstance, then congratulations! Today is the last day you have to feel this way. Today can be the first day of a new beginning. You no longer have to hate your body. You no longer have to fight with that person. You no longer have to criticize yourself. You no longer have to put off exercise. You can make a change today.

Of course I understand that grief, anger, depression, anxiety, or a number of really challenging emotions cannot be flipped over to happiness just because you want to. Start small, and start with progress. There is something that makes you feel good in your life right now. Think about that thing, pet, or person. Be with them. Allow yourself to feel happy and grateful for one small thing, like a cozy bed at night.

Being grateful for what you already have can be the first step to being open to a solution. Remember that outside people and factors cannot be changed, at least not by you. What can you do to change yourself? How can you be the solution?
