No Perfect Paths

How could I have known better when I hadn’t yet been through it?

It's impossible to grasp the orchestration and meaning behind every single relationship, encounter, mundane choice and life choice. I believe people and situations are all brought into our life for a reason. And the cool thing is, just like the Universe is always conspiring for your benefit, it also conspires for everyone else's benefit too.

Which means, we are all in this together - helping each other in our lessons, our inspiration, our personal growth, and along our paths. People are like real-life angels to guide us, we just don't know that about ourselves.

A difficult conversation with someone, an argument, or a break up, are all opportunities to learn something about ourselves. And if another person is involved, we are probably doing the same for them.

I have regrets. There are things and people from my past I wish weren't there. Looking back, I wish they had never happened, or I wish I had known better. But the truth is, how could I have known better when I hadn't yet been through it?

Maybe that very person, situation, or event was there to teach me what I needed to learn, so that I wouldn't repeat the same mistake, or go down that path at all. It's like learning you don't like something by trying it first. You don't know if you don't try.

If we can trust that the events in our life, even the ones we don't like or aren't proud of, were all there because they HAD to be, they had to teach us something in order to get us here, then we can let go of our attachment to those events in order to move forward.

We don't have to be tied to our past. We can remain aware of it, and carry the lessons, but not the guilt or the pain.

The things I regret from 1 year ago, or 5 years ago, or 10 years ago, would not have happened the same way if I had been the person I am today. But the only reason I am this person is because of every experience up to this point.

There are no perfect paths. The "imperfect" paths bring us exactly what we need when we make the choice to become self-aware, and to grow.
